St. George Hotel (1983-1995) - Renovation to National Historic Landmark specification. Work comprised of roof replacement, siding replacement, carpeting, construction and renovation of four bathrooms, flooring, replacement of heating system, and installation of a new fire alarm system.

 

 

St. George Hotel Renovation Project (2001) - Project currently underway pursuant to a disaster grant provided by the US Department of Commerce to the State of Alaska. Work includes boiler and water maker replacement, kitchen renovation, replacement of interior doors, casing, and base trim, painting, cabinetry replacement, installation of a water conditioning system, phone and cable lines, lighting renovation, hardwood floor refinishing, roof repair, foundation leak repair, underground storage tank removal and replacement with an above ground tank, and carpeting replacement. Contract amount: $260,000. Renovation involves a building that is listed on the National Historic Register. Accordingly, the work includes maintaining the historic character of the building, while increasing functionality.

St. George Seal Plant Restoration Project (1998/1999) - Project completed under cooperative agreement with the national Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Contract amount: $2.047 million, completed under budget of $2.444 million. Work included archeological monitoring and reporting, lead paint removal and encapsulation, non-friable asbestos roofing removal and disposal, rebar and formwork, structural concrete work, structural crack repair with epoxy injection, installation of electrochloride treatment system, painting, retrofitting and installation of seventy six single-pane divided light windows, sheeting and application of 11,000 ft2 of ice and water shield and cedar shake roof shingles, and installation of new electrical system.
